At Koby's Garden Alchemy, our purpose is to consistently provide artistic
horticultural expertise, resulting in enduring fullfillment that excels far beyond
ordinary garden services and the expectations of our clients.
Our knowledge is imbued by years of experience.  We continually perform
work worthy of choice magazine spreads with unique compositions
of extraordinary plants and materials where quality is always king.
Our style is savvy and proficient; custom crafted to client and desired setting.
Experience emboldens us to let you know why and idea will or won't work.
Yours is the canvas we are so gratefully privileged to paint.
We are a small hands on business with very few employees.  Consequently we only have time to give attention to a limited yet choice group of clients' whose desire and or passion is a truly great garden - be it cultivating containers or properly pruning.
Our territory is central San Diego to about 15 miles out, if you sweeten the pot enough we'll consider going farther; we've accomplished work outside of this county and state.
Our design, installation and maintenance goals are to exceed our client's desires.
The seasoned talent brought to this endeavor has been gathered and polished by over twenty seven years of hands-on experience in this field. The expert attention you receive from Koby's Garden Alchemy is personalized from start to finish.

Koby Hall, owner and president has been performing professional garden work since 1983.  The inception of Koby's Garden Alchemy commenced in February of 1992, and incorporated in 2006.

No formal horticulture classes to start, but here is where the apprenticeship begins:
  • Simpson’s Nursery - sales.
  • Botanical Design - installation & maintenance (interior plants too).
  • Mission Hills Nursery - consultant.
  • Slowly started taking on more clients as my knowledge and experience grew.
  • When I had enough clients I branched out on my own.
  • Decades and scores of clients later - here we are still growing...

"Our water bill is down 50% from the same time las year!  Aesthetic enjoyment is up over 100%.
    -  Nat Klein

"I do want you to know how much joy I get as I look outside in any direction and it's even better when I can find the time to be out there to really focus on it or take others on a mini-tour of our much improved landscape."
    -  Barbara Price

"Koby, On Saturday we went to '------' nursery just to wander and because it is something we have often enjoyed.  It's a fun nursery.  But the truth is, we were so disappointed... nothing special,  nothing even etmpting.  Everything was ordinary.  With so many exceptional pots and plants here at home...  you have spoiled the  'nursery experience'  for us.  Thanks a lot!  Seriously... thank you.
    Our garden is wonderful."
    Sara Oswald

"Hi Koby, We returned home Friday evening to find the beautiful new lights had been installed. I love them. They're just right."

"Koby --- Just wanted to let you know that there were many compliments on the garden. It looked it's very best last Saturday. The front garden is so lush and, of course, in full bloom. The back looked so fresh and open with the paths open and all the new mulch. Even Oz, who seldom has a comment, said you did a "magnificent job"."

"Koby---You've created a masterpiece. I can't imagine what more the garden would need!"

"The front garden has been beautiful all Spring. There are constant compliments
    from passersby."
     -  Quinn Osborn

"Oh, my gosh. I’ve never seen such variety.
    It’s gorgeous...  Everything looks terrific.
You are the master of color."
    -  Eddie Drcar

    (Clients Prior Home)
"[Koby]a self-taught horticulturist who has designed, installed and maintained gardens throughout San Diego for two decades, had upgraded a pre-existing garden to make it colorful and secluded. The space was so attractive that when they put the home on the market, and it sold in less than an hour. "People walked in saw the garden and the bids started," said Marsha."
    (Clients New Home)
"He also saw a wonderful opportunity to create beds filled with flowers, island of succulents and pots overflowing with color, texture and foliage...
Though only two years old, the Berkson's garden is surprisingly full and mature, thanks to [Koby's] attention to soil preparation and good planting methods. His planting scheme is a fusion of Mediterranean styles and includes many low water plants."
